Resume

Key Qualifications

I am an academically trained visual artist and social epidemiologist with 15 years’ experience working in government, academic, and non-profit settings. I study the behavioral, social, economic, and political factors that shape health and wellbeing. Until recently, I was a federal worker employed at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention focusing on understanding and addressing gender-related barriers to global immunization. I am now driven to integrate my expertise in community engagement in public health research and practice with my interests and skill as a figurative painter. My goal is to prepare a painting series grounded in participatory research that documents the consequences of the US government defunding critical health and human services. In addition, I aim to motivate the viewer to advocate for the health of women and girls, families, and their communities and to celebrate the contributions of government workers.
